Calgary flooding

Our hometown, Calgary, has been devastated by flooding.  It was surreal, to see the streets of Calgary turned into waterways.  Prince’s Island Park missing under tons of water.  White caps in Stampede Park and the Saddledome converted to a massive swimming pool.

Many people impacted by the flooding, including my parents had to be evacuated, and while the water levels are slowly going down and some people can start going home, many others, in Calgary, High River and now Medicine Hat, need help.  The impact of the flooding will require a significant clean up effort: City infrastructure (compromised bridges, parks, roadways, sewer systems) and homes in affected neighbourhoods will need to be fixed.  If you are able to help out, by donating time, money or items, please do.

  1. Saw Calgary right after it flooded, was pretty intense. They managed to clean it up well before the Stampede though!
